1. Why you should tell your kids what you make. I agree with the author to some extent; Tyler Cowen offers good insight on this article, here.
2. Families are now paying more for public university tuition than state governments. This article cites a study from the GAO, here.
3. The most and least stressful avenues for bikers in Manhattan.
4. Super Bowl pessimism - let's just not forget these subsidies are sunk costs for consumers.
5. Bloomberg's analysis of rising Super Bowl commercial costs.

"Make your choice, but be logical; for as long as you ban, as you do, foreign coal, iron, wheat, and textiles, in proportion as their price approaches zero, how inconsistent it would be to admit the light of the sun, whose price is zero all day long!"

Everybody takes a hiatus...
It's been nearly half a year since the last post on the CMPB. After a busy yet rewarding summer, a college senior's schedule doesn't ease up much either (at least until the spring). With my near future/post-graduate plans determined, I figured it would be as good of a time as any to get back into thinking more rigorously about different facets of human interaction through an economic lens. If nothing else, this blog can act a means for collecting articles, published papers, or online posts of topical interest that will hopefully generate enthusiasm from readers as well.
Instead of getting into some detailed analysis for my first post back, here are a few things I've come across recently that grabbed my attention:
1. The world is getting more and more safe - and is a better place to live in than ever before.
2. http://theworstthingsforsale.com. What does it sound like?
3. What's killing the British pub? This one hits close to home.
4. Does the price of bitcoin matter? And what's the difference between Bitcoin and bitcoin?
5. Josh Barro's take on President Obama's proposal to tax 529s.
